My work

My work

Last summer, I travelled through Canada in my vintage campervan. Driving along the ocean, through forests and over mountain roads, enjoying the incredible wildlife along the way: bald eagles, bears, whales... It makes me so happy!

I've always loved nature, and now that I live in Canada, I'm reminded every day of just how extraordinary our planet is. And how important it is to protect it. That's one reason I enjoy writing about circular construction, renewable energy, climate change, and innovative solutions for a more sustainable future. I interview people with inspiring ideas, explore new developments and turn what I learn into engaging, accessible stories. And while sustainability is one of my specialties, I love writing about all kinds of other subjects too.

I'm genuinely interested in people, ideas and change. Over the years, I've interviewed executives and experts, covered events, written in-depth articles and edited whitepapers, position papers and other specialist publications. My work also includes sponsored content, SEO content and other content marketing publications. One day, I might be interviewing a senior executive in the construction industry; the next, I'm exploring a completely different subject. And that's exactly what I love about my work: the variety, the people I meet and the opportunity to keep learning something new.

Winter in BC, Canada

British Columbia is a province of many faces. While the Pacific Ocean brings rain to Vancouver, snow blankets the mountain passes of the Rockies. Once again, meteorologists are keeping a close eye on what the coming winter will bring.

Carbon-neutral concrete

Five years ago, carbon-neutral concrete still seemed a long way off. Since then, Dura Vermeer and Geelen Beton have cut the COâ‚‚ emissions of precast concrete structural walls by around 70% and are now taking the next step with biochar.

Bringing parties together

The Netherlands aims to achieve a carbon-neutral built environment by 2050. Yet we are still not moving fast enough when it comes to making existing homes more sustainable. The biggest challenge is bringing all the parties involved together from the very start of a project.
